Phosphorus are dissolved in ferrite, in the form of solid solution, this solid solution is very fragile. The segregation of adding phosphorus is more serious than adding sulfur. The rich phosphorus area makes steel brittle and reduce the plasticity, toughness and weldability of steel. Therefore the steel plate with Z performance should have qualified guarantee on the content of sulfur and phosphorus, the control of sulfur content is relatively heavily.
