Properties
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic active against most gram positive and negative, such as pasteurella, salmonella, haemophilus, actinobacillus, bordetella, proteus, fusobacterium, corynebacterium, streptococcus, staphylococcus, erysipelothrix, moraxella, mycoplasma, chlamydia, and rickettsia.
Indications
Cattle, sheep, goats and swine:
Treatment and control of infectious diseases, caused by, or associated with, oxytetracycline-susceptible organisms.
Administration and dosage
Intramuscular route.
The recommended dosage is 5 to 10 mg of oxytetracycline per kg bodyweight per day, as 0.5 ml (adults) to 1 ml (young) of oxytetracycine10% per 10 kg per day for 3 days.
Storage
Store in a dark place in its original packaging.
Withdrawal period
Meat: 15 days
Milk: 3 days
