Product Description
Hydrophilic SiO2 Silicon Dioxide
1. Introduction of Hydrophilic SiO2 Silicon Dioxide
Hydrophilic fumed silica is manufactured by hydrolysing volatile chlorosilanes in an oxyhydrogen flame. The loose white powder consists of highly pure amorphous silicon dioxide. Hydrophilic silica is wetted by water and can be dispersed in water. Hydrophobic silica is produced by the chemical reaction of hydrophilic silica with reactive silanes. It has water-repellent properties and is no longer dispersible in water.
Aerosil 300 Fumed Silica (SiO2): A white and colloidal micro-paricle with its primary micro-particle from 5-40 nm and has obvious properties such as thixotropy, reinforcing, thickening and filling etc, and is insoluble in all inkds of solvents and ilquids except hydrofluoric acid and concentrated bases. 2. Main characteristics of Aerosil 300 Fumed Silica (SiO2)in physical and chemical aspects
High purity
Aggregated structure
Submicron particle size
Low bulk density
3. Applications of Aerosil 300 fumed silica
(1)Synthetic rubber: Improve tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance and electrical insulation properties.
(2) RTV: Thickener, thixotropic agents, improve reinforcement and bond strength
(3) Unsaturated polyester: Thickener, thixotropic agents
(4) Coatings: Thickener, thixotropic agents, matting agents, to prevent pigment settling, anti-corrosion
(5) Printing inks: Prevent sedimentation, as a thickener, replicability, coloring and water resistance
(6) Adhesive: Thickener, improve the bond strength to prevent sedimentation
4. Packing and Storage of Aerosil 300 fumed silica
Packing: Carton packaging, 10 kg/bag, and
Storage: Seal at low temperature, ventilated, dry place.
Shelf life: At least two years under normal storage conditions.
