Introduction:

Generally speaking, our heavy duty slurry pumps are low pressure pumps, so the impellers designed for these pumps are 5-vane closed type impellers. But as alternatives, there are also impellers with 4 vanes, and 6 vanes. The slurry pumps with 6 vane impellers can pump higher than the standard 5-vane impellers. Therefore, if the customer is looking for a heavy duty metal lined slurry pump with relatively high pressure, a slurry pump with 6-vane impeller will be a better choice than simply a high pressure slurry pump with 5-vane impellers. Because the cost of slurry pumps with 6-vane impellers are much lower than high pressure 5-vane slurry pumps. 

The above shown impeller is a 6-vane, closed type, high chrome alloy impeller for slurry pump 8/6E-AH, whose part number is F6058A05. Slurry pump with this impeller can pump max. 800m3 per hour, at max. 80m head. And the pump can run at max. 1300r/min, with max. efficiency 75%. The manufacturing time required for a 6-vane impeller is 20 days. If you need it on an urgent basis, pls order ahead of time. 

Interchangeable hard metal and moulded elastomer liners: replaceable liners are available in both hard metals and pressure moulded elastomers and are fully interchangeable within the same pump.

No impeller adjustment is possible for a closed impeller. Once the wear ring clearances doubles they have to be replaced. This means the pump had to be disassembled just to check the status of the wear rings.

The slurry pump closed impeller is difficult to cast because the internal parts are hidden and hard to inspect for flaws.
