How Does Profhilo® work?

Profhilo is the first BDDE-free injectable Hyaluronic Acid for hydrating skin and treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of HA in the market (64mg/2cc), the stabilised HA lasts in the skin for about 28 days. Profhilo works because of 2 types of hyaluronic acid: L-HA and H-HA. This hybrid of HA allows hyaluronic acid to be released slowly and lasts longer allowing bio remodelling to take place. L-HA as a hybrid complex is released slowly and hydrates your skin, providing the Hydro effect. H-HA provides a stable HA architecture in the dermis that allows volumetric replacement, giving the Lift effect. During this time, the slow release of HA kickstarts stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin. Histologically, the expression levels of type I and type III collagen and type IV and VII collagen in keratinocytes are increased.

How is Profhilo® different from other HA fillers?

A new thermal cross-linking method called the NAHYCO TECHNOLOGY™ modifies the characteristics of the two weights of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which goes on to remodel the skin tissues. This technique is commonly utilised in bio revitalisation treatments. As a result of this technology, there is a longer-lasting time release of the two HA molecules. This double action is perfect for redesigning skin laxity.

What does Profhilo® do?

What’s the procedure like?

The face is cleansed and anaesthetic cream is applied onto the 5 Bio-Aesthetic Points (BAP) on each side of the face. The BAP represents the injection sites of Profhilo®, carefully selected to keep risks to vessels and nerves to a minimum. Once injected, Profhilo® immediately starts to spread throughout the face.

Is there any downtime?

The initial bumps observed at each injection site rapidly subsides in the next few hours. There is virtually no downtime for this treatment.
