Homocysteine (HCY) Test

Homocysteine (Hcy) is a sulfur-containing amino acid metabolized by methionine, 80% of Hcy conjugated by disulfide and protein in the blood, only a small part of free homocysteine to participate in the cycle. Hcy levels are closely related to cardiovascular disease, are an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Increased blood Hcy to cause arterial injury by stimulated blood vessel wall, to formed inflammation and wall plaques, and eventually blocked the flow of cardiac blood. Deficient nutrition for Vitamin B followed with moderate or mild Hcy increased, also increases the risk of heart disease. Testing Principle of Homocysteine (HCY) Lab Blood Test
Hipro's homocysteine levels test uses the enzymes conversion method to quantify the total concentration of homocysteine in the blood, no antibody reagents need to add in.

Reducing the oxidation state of homocysteine by dithiothreitol (DTT) first, then decomposing homocysteine by the recombinant enzyme.

The product formed by reaction and the appropriate coloring agent will be formed to the measurable fluorescent compounds.

This fluorescent material can fluoresce by a specific wavelength of 670nm at 700nm.
